Spanish Edition of Stock Reports by CIA-affiliated Radio Station

The Commercial and Financial Chronicle reported 2/19/67 that “The American Stock Exchange, for the first time, has begun broadcasting Exchange market data in Spanish. Broadcasts are heard daily by several million Spanish speaking people throughout Latin America through the facilities of Radio New York World Wide (WNYW),” 485 Madison Avenue, New York City.

WNYW is the direct descendant of WRUL and World Wide Broadcasting System — the outfit which in 1960 cooperated with the CIA’s Radio Swan by supplying the propaganda programs of “Havana Rose.” In addition to this support of the CIA’s Bay of Pigs operation, World Wide has also been linked with the Agency’s 19514 overthrow of Arbenz in Guatemala.
