FRANK TANNENBAUM INTERAMERICAN ROUNDTABLE Mr. Michael Locker North American Congress on Latin America Box 57, Cathedral Station New York, New York 10025 Dear Mr. Locker: The Frank Tnnenbaum Interamerican Roundtable, of which I am Acting Secretary, would like very much to hear the views of NACLA at its next meeting on March 19 at 12 noon on the third floor of the Center for Interamerican Relations at 680 Park Avenue, New York City. This roundtable was established seven years ago by Dr. Frank Tannenbaum of Columbia University. It is a group of forty to fifty people from various professions who have an interest in Latin America. Usually 20-25 of these men come to each lunch. The group is composed of businessmen whose companies have invest- ments in Latin America, newspapermen, publishers, academicians, staff people from various organizations such as the Pan American Society and the Council for Latin America. It is not an officially constituted or- ganization and does not have any direct affiliation with any other group. Dr. Tannenbaum established this roundtable as an open forum for anyone with views on Latin America. These views are presented by the speakers on an entirely off the record basis. No publication of the con- tent of these meetings is ever permitted. From time to time we have had Presidents of Latin American countries, Ambassadors, officials who are out of office, professors whbse views might generally be thought to be unpopular. Frankly, we enjoy controversy. Several of our members have read some of your fine newsletters, not necessarily agreeing with the viewpoint however. The publisher, who shall remain nameless, said your newsletter was one of the most professional and carefully prepared, he had ever seen. We would like very much to hear your views and to have you respond to questions. I am sure you will be as amazed at the exchange of views as I know we will be if you will honor our invitation. So that notices may go out as soon as possible, will you please let us know at the latest, Tuesday, March 10. Acting Secretary (and of the Council for Latin America)
